If you have had an individual health insurance company decline you for health insurance, or had an agent tell you that he or she could not help you on the private market, you may be happy to know that some changes are being implemented. And the time to look into these health reform changes is now!
You can start by looking at the federal high risk health pool websites. But you may also need to look at your own state’s websites because the rules and plans will vary! There is a state search on the federal website, so you may just want to start there.
Look now because my own state website said that funds were limited, and it gave the impression that people, who met the qualifications, would be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
Understand that these health pools are only for people who have been declined, or would be declined, for a private plan. You should look into individual health insurance first!
US Health reform will change the way that many Americans get health insurance, and some of these changes are starting now.
